Lesedi Wine Estate.

A self-initiated concept for a Stellenbosch wine estate. Instead of a product grid, you pick up the bottle and turn it in your hand, and the label tells you everything.

01 / the idea

The idea.

Wine is bought in the hand. You pick up a bottle, turn it over and read the back. Most estate websites skip that moment and show a thumbnail and a paragraph instead.

Lesedi puts the bottle back in your hand. Drag it and it turns. Each quarter-turn brings a new panel of the label round to the front: the wine, the tasting note, the vineyard block and what to eat with it. A reader beside the bottle shows the same panel at full size.

Choose another wine and the bottle spins, changes shape and colour, and the whole evening sky shifts with it, from golden hour to dusk. The name comes from the same idea: Lesedi is Setswana for "light", for the last hour of sun the slopes hold onto.

02 / the build

The build.

There is no 3D model file. Each bottle is drawn as a side profile in code and spun into shape, so a Burgundy bottle can morph smoothly into a Bordeaux or a sparkling bottle.

The labels are drawn live onto a canvas and wrapped around the glass as a texture. The glass highlights stay fixed to the "studio lights" while the bottle turns beneath them, which is what makes it read as real glass.

Around the bottle sits a complete estate site: an age gate, a cart, bookable tastings and a wine club. It works with a mouse, a finger or the keyboard, respects reduced-motion settings and falls back to a flat bottle if 3D is unavailable.

// why it's here

One bottle. Four sides to read.

Lesedi is not a client project, and the estate is fictional. It shows how a product site can let people handle the product, built to show the interactive 3D work CornerStone can deliver.
