01 / challenge
The challenge.
Barc House needed more of an online presence — one that could give potential residents a visual presentation of what the residence offers before they ever arrived for a viewing.
Instead of students having to travel from wherever they were staying simply to get a feel for the residence, its spaces, amenities and available accommodation, the experience needed to come to them through their screens.
Management also needed a better way to handle maintenance queries. Relying on simple WhatsApp messages made it easy for requests to become buried among other conversations or difficult to keep track of over time.
02 / solution
The solution.
We built a website in Barc House's own look, teal and cream with its brush-script name, that gives students a clear view of both residences, Irene and Karoo, from their screens: the rooms, amenities, photo galleries, distances to campus and the key terms up front, with an online application protected against spam.
Behind the public-facing website, management has a secure portal where applications can be received, existing residents can be kept track of, and maintenance requests can be stored and managed in one place.
Approved applicants get their own portal to upload their move-in documents, and residents can follow their maintenance requests until they're resolved, creating a clearer connection between residents and management.
